System bash prompt is messed up

I'm using zsh with oh-my-zsh. When I enter bash, the prompt looks like %}%n@%m:%~%#. The same value is returned from echo $PS1. I don't remember messing with it. What do I need to do in order to fix it for all users on the system? edit retag close merge delete 1 Answer Sort by » oldest newest most voted Welcome to ask.fedora. That's an odd thing to happen, and I'm not sure what went wrong. However, the default for that is set in /etc/bashrc so that's where I'd look. BTW, it's normally set to [\u@\h \W]\$ if that's what you want.

I'd also check ~/.bashrc and all the files it sources too, in case there are other tools that are messing with these environment variables. It could be related to oh-my-zsh too. I haven't used that so I'm not sure how it modifies settings. I would expect it not to mess with bash configurations but one can't be sure without looking at it in detail.
