A few days ago I bought an Epson XP245 combined printer and scanner. The printer is connected to the computer via USB with the Epson XP-243 245 246 driver installed. I using Fedora 27 with Gnome version 3.26.1.
I have no issues with printing, however I am having problems in getting the scanner to work. When I use Simple Scan to attempt to scan a document from my printer, I get a message stating that it "Failed to Scan - no Scanners available". I have also installed iScan and am getting a similar problem. Has anyone else had a similar problem and how did you manage to resolve it?

Welcome to ask.fedora. You may not realize it, but Fedora 27 is in beta, which means that it may not be ready for Prime Time as yet. It might be a good idea to take this issue to the appropriate test mailing list to see if this is F 27-specific or not.

There's manual and Linux scanner driver: http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du/...

Do you have it installed?
