Since a recent update, my chromium display is corrupted:

  • Icons are replaced with red or yellow squares
  • Parts of the window are drawn in yellow

I do not have any corrupted graphics issues in any other software.

I tried reinstalling it without success.

I tried several desktop environment: GNOME wayland and Xorg, cinnamon, MATE, Xfce.

I tried reinstalling the graphics drivers, and rebuilding the nvidia kernel module.

More details:

  • Fedora version: 26, up to date
  • chromium version: 60.0.3112.113
  • graphics drivers: nvidia from rpmfusion (xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-340xx 340.102)

It was a bug in EPEL's chromium package: Bug 1493664, which is solved in version 61.0.3163.100-1.el7.

I could confirm it by testing the new version: sudo dnf update chromium --enablerepo updates-testing

I can't recommend such repository haha; I am from other team; you can install "chromium-freeworld" in rpmfusion (but it the same rpm with a option enabled) or from unitedrpms the rpm is different here (I called it "Swiss knife" haha )...
