Perhaps this best ask on a Mozillia forum, not sure.

When I navigate to sites like Amazon, All Music & click to hear any audio bueno. The little page widget thingy will become active but the clip is not played. I've tried a few MP3 plugins for FF, didn't help. Config here is FF 55.0.1, on Fedora 26. What do I need to do to have FF play these audio clips?

I do have a work around, using Gnome browser works just fine! Audio clips play on various sites I've tried.

that does sound like firefox problem. missing an extension or filetype setup. see what the support at firefox has to say.

Do you have relevant codecs installed? I don't know whether Gnome browser uses same libs as FireFox to decode audio files.

For me song samples on amazon are working on latest FireFox without any plug-ins, even with DRM disabled.

Go to about:profiles and create a new profile to test audio playback with it.

TaDa! Thank you ozeszty, problem solved.

Adding a profile did not solve the problem, but confirmed FF was not root cause. The root cause was an incomplete Gstreamer installation. I followed the steps in the article you linked, rebooted my system and all is well.

Note to others with a similar problem. After installing Gstreamer per the linked instructions, I still could not play audio clips. I needed to reboot, and when I did all was well.
