Broadcom to Intel WiFi - Keeps Changing MAC Address?

The Intel card seems to be recognized in Fedora. It's an HP laptop. The Broadcom card was acting flaky, only working some of the time. This Intel card was listed as a suitable replacement. Is there a driver issue or does it sound more like a hardware fault? This wlan card changes MAC addresses every few minutes and will not allow a new MAC address to be added: it just doesn't accept and keep it

Details, the laptop is an HP Probook 6570b the network card I put in was an Advanced N 6205 Anh (Intel chipset)

I don't have a complete list of programs that I used to diagnose / attempt to put a static MAC in the NIC, but they did include ifup, iwconfig, iwevent, ethtool (-P was the only working option, all others were blocked; -P turned up the same MAC every time, but ifconfig and the rest never turned up that number.) Randomized MAC addresses is a privacy feature of NetworkManager. It’s designed this way so that you aren’t broadcasting the same — trackable — identifier on an open channel when reaching out to connect to a network.

Thanks, that helped. I was able to get the 2.4GHz band working by using ip link set dev wlo1 xx:xx:xx:yy:yy:yy I put in the HWADDR as the permanent MAC address I found using, ethtool -P. Every time I try to start the 5GHz config, it attempts to connect, fails, then connects to the 2.4 GHz band again. The ifcfg-Name2.4 and ifcfg-Name5 files in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ are identical except for the UUID= and NAME= values, and their filenames.

What can I do to get the 5GHz connection working?
