Remote Access Issue

I would like to access Fedora 26's desktop from another machine using VNC. I understand that a VNC server should be running on my Fedora box?

  • how do I find the port/credentials for the VNC server
  • are there any Fedora firewall issues (ie: forwarding the VNC port)
  • how can I find out of the VNC server is actually running?

The Fedora computer is on my local network behind my router firerwall and will not be exposed to anything other than the local network, so I am not too worried about ports on Fedora's firewall, if they need to be opened.

Anyone? Anyone? (say in Ferris Bueller's economic teacher's voice for full effect)

Cheers, Brian

Look into this previous anwser you need to open firewall you can use this command to open it firewall-cmd --add-service=vnc-server or firewall-cmd --permanent --add-service=vnc-server to make it permanent.
