I have upgraded to 26 from 25 through Software Center. For the first time the booting was successful and I could even log in to as usual. But from next time onwards, booting was never successful with first kernel it shows while booting. I did 'dnf update' 3-4 times till now for which there was kernel updates. Now I have to choose the 3rd choice in kernel selection in booting. The booting freezes at 'Started GNOME Display Manager. Dispatcher Service...' and curser continuous blinks and will never move forward from there.

Details. Driver? open source or proprietary? model number of card? R9? R7? other? can you use CtrlAlt-F2 to login as root from a console terminal? if so, then post the output of lspci and lsmod so that I can see what is loaded. You can update the question, to include the output of those commands, since comments are limited..

disable the integrated video in the motherboard bios, and see if the radeon is picked on the next boot.
