YUMI – Multiboot USB Creator not working for fedora 26 Server

I have download fedora 26 Server https://getfedora.org/server/download... cannot create pen drive boot disk via YUMI. I'm trying to install the Fedora 26 Server on an old HP PC I'm booting from an YUMI – Multiboot USB Creator and get to the Fedora Install Screen I select "Install Fedora 26"

I get:

[ OK ] Started Show Plymouth Boot Screen. [ OK ] Reached target Paths. [ OK ] Reached target Encrypted Volumes. [ OK ] Reached target System Initialization. [ OK ] Listening on Open-iSCSI iscsiuio Socket. [ OK ] Reached target Sockets. [ OK ] Started Forward Password Requests to Plymouth Directory Watch. [ OK ] Reached target Basic System.

After that it gives me a warning about starting timeout scripts and the final two warnings Could not boot. /dev/root does not exist

Please help

My impression is that these multi-boot installers need some special distribution specific handling for most of the different distributions that they support. Also even for a single distribution, there are many ways for the boot to happen. The Fedora Workstation image for example has a separate bootloader setup for all of these and then possibly some other cases:

Boot from CD on BIOS
Boot from USB on BIOS
Boot from USB in UEFI

The bootloader in that multi-boot stick would need to be able to detect at least between BIOS and UEFI and then start the right kind of bootloader in the right way. Alternately they just skip the bootloader and directly load the kernel and initramfs file from the OS to be booted but also these tend to be set up a bit differently between various distributions.

In short, this is a quite difficult thing to get right, I would recommend following the Fedora instructions. These will always write the exact same image that has been carefully set up to boot up a working fedora on a really wide variety of hardware. Unfortunately having that exact same image there means that following these will erase any other data from the USB storage device. However, in return you tend to get a way more reliable Fedora boot.
