Fedora freezes during shutdown and other commands on kernel kernel-4.11.7-200.fc25.x8664, but not on kernel kernel-4.8.6-300.fc25.x8664. image description

The whole os also freezes when I type screenfetch on to the terminal, and I can not move anything. In both of these instances, I have to turn the power off manually.

My laptop is a Dell XPS 9560. I do not know if this is relevant or not, but it has the 1050 graphics card.

Please give me some ideas on how to fix this.

I run 4.11.7-200.fc25.x8664 with proprietary nvidia, 381.22, 4.11.7-200.fc25.x8664, x86_64: installed and have no issues with kernel updates as dkms builds new kernel modules for the nvidia driver. Nouveau may not have released updates yet for the new kernel. if you need nouveau, then you may just need to wait on upates, and revert to any earlier kernel on your laptop. Should have some previous kernels saved.
