I cannot find the command for checking printer ink levels any one help please? I am using Epson printers. And what can i do if my printer refuses to print yellow anymore even though I have treated it to a complete set of new cartridges.

I don't think that there is a general command or program that reads ink level from the printer. That is pretty much depending on the drivers provided by the printer manufacturer. Did you find the right EPSON drivers and installed them successfully?

None, as the printer driver is what reports the ink level to fedora.

I guess Libinklevel is what you are looking for. It is free software. It seems to be pretty new. So, your printer will hopefully be supported. Check its list of supported devices to make sure of that though. According to This Ubuntu thread inkblot and mktink are two other applications you can use.
