Whenever I close my lid, my computer starts over-heating, and dies. Only started happening recently with a new version of Fedora. I have an hp spectre x360.

what fedora version are you using? have you updated to the latest rpms? is it how in the area you are? are you doing heavy resource tasks? just some common things that happen with laptops.

@jlozadad I am running Fedora 25. I have not done any updates myself, but there have been automatic ones. I'm new to this, so I don't know what updating to the latest rpms entails. Also, I am not doing any heavy resource tasks, and it is not because of external heat.

You can run 'sudo dnf update' in a terminal to ensure that you are fully up to date.
