While trying to debug why my machine won't resume from suspend to RAM I read that doing 'echo > 1 /sys/power/pm_trace' would allow me to debug whether a driver is causing the issue (I am using NVIDIA drivers so thought it might have something to do with that).

Strangely, after activating 'pmtrace' suspend works, enabling debugging appears to fix the problem. Does anyone know what this might indicate? Is it ok to leave pmtrace active?
