New softwares for FEDORA 16

I have tried fedora 16 for the first time and i am trying to install third party software's it is downloading but these software are not installing in my system like Skype,Open vpn, Google talk etc.. please suggest me in fedora 16 which i have to install like graphic design,software development,minimal,webserver etc.. which supports for installing all the third party software's and Please tell me where can i download fedora 16 compatible software's.

If you google for this "Fedora 16 post installation" you will find dozens of useful guides to make your system friendly and install the top installed/useful applications.

Here's just one as an example:

To be more specific on your question:

  • skype needs to be downloaded from the skype website
  • open-vpn: should be already installed, if not just open a terminal and run sudo yum install NetworkManager-openvpn NetworkManager-vpnc
  • google talk too I believe it is downloadable and installable directly from the inside your gmail account
