Hi People,

I have tried the FN+<specific key="" to="" control="" brightness=""> on multiple laptops to control the screen brightness while I am not logged in or a gnome session is locked (Lock Screen), but I had no success. Those keys are inactive.

Does anyone know how to make that work? Or is it something which is not implemented in GDM (Gnome3) yet?

Thanks for your input.

Just let us know which brand and model of laptop you are using, in the meanwhile you can try reinstalling bash -

# yum reinstall bash

After that check if the Function keys are working !!

For me it helped after there were some updates to my F16 box. I suggested you how it got fixed, I don't have much clue regarding the reason. Anyways reinstalling bash doesn't do any harm, so you can try the solution.
