If you're trying to get rotating wallpaper, you might try installing and using wallpapoz, which is available in the fedora repo. I was quite happy with it for several years until I switched to Xfce, which provides it without extra software.

yes, I installed it. But that way I have to donwload thousands of wallpapers in my resolution. Variety does that automatically, with tons of other options. Can't seem to compile in in f25 tho

I don't feel the need for that many wallpapers; a few dozen is ample, but I get to decide which ones I use instead of trusting somebody else's taste. Sorry you didn't like it.

Hi,

this is the package: https://launchpad.net/variety

I am unable to compile from source. This is what I've done:

  1. Downloaded the tar.gz
  2. Extracted
  3. Ran python setup.py install
  4. Installed with errors, does not run.

(as instructed on: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/ques... )

Basically, I am looking for a complete way to compile from source listed on the website, to install it on Fedora 25. Any help would do. Thank you.

Sergio's package as mentioned on your link https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/ques... works for me, failing that I give details of running from source here: http://www.webscalability.com/blog/20...
