I understand leaving MySQL behind but was just curious why Fedora would go with MariaDB over something really robust like PostgreSQL? This is not to knock MariaDB in any way; postgres just seems more advanced and an attractive choice for enterprise use as well once Fedora becomes the future RHEL version.

Why would MariaDB and postresql be mutually exclusive?

I was kind of wondering this as well; maybe this is not the right place to discuss this issue, but it would be useful to have some external links posted to the relevant discussion boards and/or mailing lists. It would certainly help create a more robust user base for Postgresql.
