How could this have possibly happen? VLC was installed. Installed some additional GS streamer codecs. Did an update. Rebooted. VLC is GONE and had to re-install? What? Why? NEVER told it do remove. Ever happen to anyone else?

It could had been a conflict with dependencies or update did not finish correctly. You should look in /var/log/dnf.log to see what happened.

Nothing is logged for today in that file. Im not rebooting during updates so idk what updates would have not finished correctly. Still at a loss.

Thanks to your Grep suggestion, I have discovered that certain GStreamer codecs and VLC cannot be installed at the same time, one will overwrite the other. I wonder if this is related to my other issue. link text
