Hello, I am using fedora 25 with recent kernel 4.10 after the recent update to kernel 4.10.11-200 theres a problem with wifi wifi is not recognizing my network, even accessing through hidden network also failed to recognize the network. at startup the wifi seemed to be operational and connected to my network but within 4-5 seconds an error of "failed to activate the connection" pops up and wifi stops recognizing my network.

I am using rtl8821ae PCI wireless card.

wifi works perfectly fine on earlier kernels of 4.10

I just solved the problem, in the syslog you can see that firewalld is ot liking the wireless interface because its not assigned a profile. Could be a coincidence.

In any case. go to settings -> network -> wifi -> ssidinquestion -> settings and reset then forget network

reconnect to your wifi ssid and you should be good.

Let me know if that fixes it for you.

Hi I tried it, but once it stop recognising the wifi network, the wifi becomes completely unavailable. meaning it neither recognizes the my network or any other. I think it is a kernel problem.

also I see wlp2s0: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-FAILED ret=-100

the problem is seemed to be with the PCI wifi only, USB wifi works perfectly

I don't recommend installs it manually, you only can contact to the maintainers of kernel in Fedora and reclaims add the current update for it.

In changelog you can found the maintainers. Laura is a great girl!
