Desktop manager won't start after kernel update to 4.10

I've got a problem after kernel update to 4.10. The boot process goes well until the graphical login screen should be shown. Then it probably hangs. If I press Alt-F2 I'm able to log in to text mode console. I couldn't find any errors in the log.

If I boot with 4.9. kernel, everything works fine.

I'm using Fedora 25 with Cinnamon. I've got GeForce GT 650M graphics card with nouveau drivers.

Thanks, any help appreciated.

Did you try to boot without graphics and start DE via systemctl isolate

You can try to select xorg in gdm before you enter your password.

Thanks for your comments. @madchem, I tried that now and I only got a black screen with blinking cursor.

i do not know if nouveau is patched for the 4.10 kernel, so you may need to check this link, and use the proprietary drivers.
