As asked here I have the same issue. In resume: The problem is that when the live cd is loading(just before login screen), suddenly, it freezes. First, the cursor appears and then, the whole computer hangs. I tried to download again the iso, and burn it again into my USB. Also I tried with different USB sticks and even different fedora 18 isos and all of them freezes while loading. It happens just when the login screen has to appear, but instead, it freezes and login screen doesn't appear. It works fine in troubleshooting -> "low graphical mode". The laptop has nvidia optimus, intel i5 processor HD3000. In the previous forum is an answer saying that this is a nvidia noveau driver problem, but I don't think so, because I think fedora runs into the intel graphic card, since nvidia card is disabled until you install the bumblewee program to enable it. some help? Thanks!

I saw a similar post/problem where the user had to disable the 2nd video card in the BIOS in order to install Fedora. Once Fedora was installed, he could re-enable it.

Hello ;

I have some hint at least for you. You can find it easily.

First you downloaded ISO first time. can it be corrupted or miss downloaded ? Or other possibility can be USB problem .Sometimes you can be stuck when you burning to usb. I don't know which are you use it. But in the end for all tools needs to be "sync" ( as a command ) because usb writing not synchronous. So It can be uncomplete job and for that reason you can be freeze or stuck in somewhere.

You should ;

Check MD5 for ISO and make sure you have RIGHT ISO Fedora Verify

If you gonna burn to USB make sure you use "sync" code for complete transfer files.

For optimus yes you're right but. It can sometimes "wrong" because If your BIOS has options for change to default graphic card on your laptop. You can be use Nvidia always whole the time. But normally yes Intel on the field as always and yes Nvidia always in the behind and wait for order to execute with "bumbleebe" in our term.
