Is dconf-editor still being used?
I read that in 2012 it was recommended to use dconf-editor to change settings in Fedora, but it's 2017 now and I wondered if there was a newer tool out there? Thanks.

dconf-editor
provides a GUI and is one of several options to read and write gsettings
values. It is still in Fedora's official repository and it works fine. So, feel free to use it.
If you know what you want, gsettings set ...
may be the faster way though.
Thanks for that, trying it but it's a little stiff -- I guess I need to try to figure out more of the options, it's just that many of the explanations are in terms that aren't evident to me, just not clear or known. Tried to upvote your response, but this note on every page here is a bit of a joke:
"Use your votes! Use the 30 daily voting points that you get!"
(I get a message about not having any points...that's just weird.)
Hi, thanks, first off I wanted to stop the screen's rotation (found there is an icon-item for this on the bar at top of the screen, but also a gsettings setting (at a different computer, don't have that info at hand.) The gsettings items appear to be most of what dconf-editor accesses, some of the choices are what I had difficulty with. I'll get that info and post again to give an example. It would be cool to have an intuitive hierarchical menu tree as in other config situations more simply navigate; that would be a lot of work, but if I see the project, would be glad to contribute.)
