Hello everyone, I'm new to Linux (I've just installed Fedora yesterday). I'm trying to install MATLAB 2017a on my laptop. Since apparently Wayland does not allow running GUI apps from the terminal, I followed the advice from here: and started a XOrg session to install it. However, the installation GUI does not work properly: image description

I need to see what I'm clicking in order to pick the right toolboxes for the installation. Does that have anything to do with Matlab's OpenGL libraries (I went through the installation once and couldn't plot anything because of that issue)?

Hello, check out the answer i provided here:

Follow the instructions for installing matlab without going to xorg. This is an installation process without using any gui. If you also have these gui problems when activating by running the ./ i talk about in my answer, you will also need to fill out the activation.ini file, but you'll have to look elsewhere for how exactly to do that. (a lot of instructions are already in the installerinput.txt and activation.ini files)
