I have a problem with Matlab R2015a on my fedora 25, the thing is that when I run matlab I have no access to the GUI, instead matlab runs on console (view image), I think that maybe is for the wayland protocol implemented on fedora. Could you help me to solve this? matlab on terminal

Well the obvious workaround is to start a GNOME on Xorg session and see if MATLAB will run on it properly. Proprietary software like MATLAB usually doesn't support the latest and greatest in the Linux world, especially when you're using a relatively old version of said proprietary software (as this is R2015a, and R2016b is the latest, R2016b may have support for Wayland for all I know).

I see a sudo prompt at the top of the screen. Why do you need to run it as root? That is the problem. You can't run graphical applications as root under wayland. Switch to the Gnome on Xorg session when you login if you must do that.

Hi, thank you for your help, that was the reason, I don't need to run as root.
