live usb creation fails on Windows 7

asked 2017-01-22 11:40:52 -0500

Trying to use the new FedoraMediaWriter-win32-4.0.7.exe file provided on the getfoedora website and after installation program is not starting on a windows 7 ultimate system with SP1 installed.

I only got a stupid Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error messages: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team fore more information."

Hope that helps to find the error and get more windows user enabled to start creating fedora live usb images... ;-)

Regards Martin

You might be better off downloading the Live Image (look on the right hand side of the Downloads page and select 64 or 32 bit) and then creating a bootable USB using Rufus. Then make sure that your BIOS will allow you to boot from USB (sometimes called something like "External Media" or something similar and you should be good to go!
