Hi, I'm on Fedora 25 Desktop installed from a LiveUSB.

I would like to tweak with locales. For some reason, however, my /usr/share/i18n/locales folder, which usually contains the "source" files for locales, is completely empty. I only have a lot of "compiled" (112 MB) locales in the binary /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive file.

Is there a specific package to install that would place the "source" files in /usr/share/i18n/locales ?

Thanks Michel

What you are looking for is the glibc-locale-source package.

Whey you know a bit about the packages you are searching for, as you do, you also could use the command as follows to list some candidates.

dnf whatprovides /usr/share/i18n/locales

Hi thomaswood,

up to the point, succinct, quick and complete! I love this kind of no nonsense answers, really. On other communities' forums I would probably have received suggestions like "re-install your system" or similar :-(
