Fedora 25 GDM stuck in login loop

I'm having a weird problem with Fedora 25 on both my desktop workstation and macbook pro. I have installed on Fedora on both and this just started to happen. Steps I've already taken are chowning the home/user directory, checked my .profile, .bashrc, .bash_profile, and scaled them down to basic (original installed version) of those, checked environment file (which I don't have), reinstalled both GDM and Gnome-session, that did work once, on my desktop, but then I rebooted and it started the loop again, I finally set Fedora to automatically log me in by setting the variable in /etc/custom.conf, and that is working on the desktop (so far) but it doesn't work on the MBP.

I had to finally set MBP to multi-user target and just login from the text screen and run startx which is the only way to get into the GUI. I haven't done this to the desktop but will if I have to, I can't find anything else to try and get GDM working.

Any suggestions? Was there an update within the last week to GDM that may have caused this? Anyone having this issue?

I'm having the same issue, after login to GNOME (Wayland or Xorg, both) goes to black screen and returns to login. I ended installing cinnamon and it runs ok.

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot gdm issues.

Here the same after an update on 6 march on my laptop. No user can login , even root , and gets the login screen again. I can get a text based login via Ctlr+Alt+F2 and after dnf upgrade (nothing todo) the situation remains.

I am having the same issue, I've probably made a duplicate here:
