Hello,

I have Fedora 16 running in a VirtualBox virtual machine, with latest updates as of 16 March 2012.

In that system I have Shotwell setup with a bunch of events with a few hundred photos in each.

A few days ago, I opened Shotwell and noticed that all my events' names have been corrupted! (they are now either empty or a bunch of weird symbols) I tried to rename the events, but when I do that Shotwell would crash with a crash message saying it was killed by "signal 6 (SIGABRT)".

What does this all mean? And how do I fix this frustrating problem? Thanks!

This is a bug in the most recent update for Shotwell. Downgrade to the previous version.

Don't worry, all your data is still correct in the database.

It appears your shotwell data got corrupted somehow. Not sure what caused it, it's never happened to me(yet). Move your ~/.shotwell directory to something else:

 mv ~/.shotwell ~/.shotwell-backup

and see how shotwell behaves.
