I installed (or updated) something called "nautilus" I think, and since then my Fedora 16 doesn't run. It stays in the black screen in which says "Loading initial ramdisk..." and never continues. I searched in the web for help, specially in the Fedora documentation and founded something helpful, in the chapter 17.2, to run in rescue mode. The thing is: I boot from Live USB... but I can't boot in rescue mode with "linux rescue" command like in the chapter says. I don't want to re-install the SO because there's information and a long job with customization and so. What can I do? Thanks.

Ok, I found the solution. Thanks to FranciscoD_ because made me remember what did I do. I installed the driver nvidia (akmod-nvidia). It was the problem. I entered in "single" mode by the Grub so I could enter in the terminal and remove the driver. Greetings.

The rescue mode is only present on the netinstall and dvd ISOs, not the liveCD ISO. It is unlikely that a nautilus update would prevent the system from booting. Nautilus is the gnome file manager and doesn't come into the picture until after you log in to your gnome desktop. What else has changed?
