I use Mozilla Thunderbird with Lightening addon (which is not as well-equiped as lotus notes) for creating notes, checking mail, scheduling things and etc, which can be simply installed by

yum install thunderbird thunderbird-lightening

However there are linux versions available in https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/ls/lsndad/ .
