Here is the answer.

  1. ENSURE that that your BIOS is 1.18 better. Older BIOSes had an issue with black screen bricking.
  2. In the BIOS, set the DISPLAY GRAPHICS from HYBRID to DISCREET.
  3. Install Fedora 29 using the default installer. (I'll be honest, my jaw nearly hit the floor when I saw the graphical installer.)

  4. Enjoy Fedora!
