I'm having the same problem. It seems to only happen when I'm using Intellij, but I pretty much live in it 24/7.

2016-04-01 13:04:20 -0600 asked a question Upgrading to Kernel 4.4.6-200.fc22 Causes Boot Issues

I went from kernel 4.3.6-201.fc22 to 4.4.6-200.fc22 and now I get dracut-initqueue warnings about having no /dev/fedora/swap. Honestly it started with kernel 4.4*

How do I diagnose and remedy the issue?

@randomuser excuse me, when I say "patched" my referring to a distro provided update.

2015-12-02 13:11:51 -0600 asked a question SSSD Login Fails After Patch

I recently updated a Fedora 22 workstation and SSSD logins began to fail.

Logs look good until sss_send_pac fails. Oddly the principal user is getting the domain added twice. For example:

I'm not sure what debuggin steps to take at this point. Joining the realm and performing ldapsearch commands are all successful.

Authentication is provided by an Active Directory system on a larger Windows-based network.

When I step up logging output in sssd.conf to level 10 I can review the krb5_child.log. I find the following failure in the log:

(Thu Dec 3 09:22:36 2015) [[sssd[krb5_child[2158]]]] [sss_send_pac] (0x0040): sss_pac_make_request failed [-1][2]

(Thu Dec 3 09:22:36 2015) [[sssd[krb5_child[2158]]]] [validate_tgt] (0x0040): sss_send_pac failed, group membership for user with principal [jgiotta\@magic.local@magic.local] might not be correct.

When this occurs I believe login fails, but terminal only says "System error" at login. At this moment, I'm essentially locked out of my profile and can only access via root.

2015-10-21 09:51:41 -0600 asked a question GUI Authentication Requiring a Different User Auth

A few weeks ago a colleague signed into my Fedora 22 workstation. He too is a group admin. Ever since then whenever I attempt to install or unlock the "Authentication Required" modal requires his password and not mine.

How can I fix this? It's highly annoying.

One thing I need to point out is that my workstation uses winbind for LDAP authentication. I'd love to switch to sssd, but I just haven't had time to rebuild my profile.

There was something definitely wrong with my package. I installed on another Fedora workstation and can see the /etc/sysconfig/docker being correct.

Patched docker-engine today and find out it overwrote my /etc/sysconfig/docker file wat?

2015-10-14 15:00:21 -0600 answered a question Custom Docker Bridge w/ Fedora 22

Found out what I'm doing wrong. I created a conf file under /etc/systemd/system/docker.service.d to override directives and preserving the docker.service

# cd /etc/systemd/system/
# mkdir docker.service.d
# cd docker.service.d
# vi override.conf

Then add the following directives (the ExecStart twice to reset the first in /usr/lib/systemd/system/docker.service):

ExecStart=/usr/bin/docker -d -H fd:// $DOCKER_OPTS

Then daemon-reload and start docker

# systemctl daemon-reload
# systemctl start docker

I guess I'm confused as to why this didn't work echo 'DOCKER_OPTS="-b=bridge0"' >> /etc/default/docker I tried to reproduce your example, but docker still established docker0

2015-10-13 19:14:04 -0600 asked a question Custom Docker Bridge w/ Fedora 22

I've been following the manual here, but I'm having trouble getting docker to use the new bridge.

I've added the following to /etc/default/docker and /etc/sysconfig/docker but as soon as I start the docker service it continues to use the docker0 bridge.

The established docker0 IP range blocks many internal IPs on my network. I simply want to configure it to use a range.

$ netstat -r
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface U 0 0 0 bridge0

2015-03-27 12:43:07 -0600 marked best answer FQDN Not Working While Tunneling w/ vpnc

Not sure if it's a local issue or something configured wrong on the company VPN, but fully qualified domain names do not work when connected.

I have an address development-appsrv01.<fqdn> when connected with vpnc I can not access this address via HTTP. However, only development-appsrv01 will work forcing me to edit the address.</fqdn>

If I perform a nslookup on the FQDN it appears to return all the correct IPs.

Is my firewall configured incorrectly? Could vpnc be the issue?

2014-11-11 12:42:47 -0600 asked a question Why Did My Gnome Screencast Stop Working?

When I attempt to use the built in gnome screencast feature I get a 0 byte webm file. It was working at some point, but now no joy.

Why did it stop working? How can I debug the issue?

I did recently install audacity-freeworld, could be a gstreamer issue.

Did some digging for a command line execution of screencasting and here is my output:

No, I can't say it's locked up in Xorg. Running as single user mode does not cause lock ups.

2014-10-07 20:06:24 -0600 answered a question FQDN Not Working While Tunneling w/ vpnc

After further investigation, this blog entry identified the problem.

To fix, edit /etc/nsswitch.conf and remove the text “[NOTFOUND=return]“ as follows:

hosts: files mdns4_minimal dns mdns4
#hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns mdns4

FQDN is now working.

Thank you for your input, but I feel like I need to know what the problem is before I report it.

Right now I have no clue why it locks up, I want to be thorough before attempting to submit a ticket.

2014-10-06 13:21:58 -0600 edited question Upgrade to Kernel 3.16+ Causes Hard Lockup or "Freezing"

I can not upgrade to a kernel above 3.15.10-201.fc20.x86_64 without experiencing random hardware "freezing".

I'd like to contribute my issue for tracking, but I don't know which logs I should be analyzing.

Any advise?

(on a side note, if I've patched bash, am I still exposed to shellshock?)

I mapped for SysRq key and even a System Request to kill all processes does not work. Also, Xorg.0.log(.old) does not show any errors or warnings.

More information: Got a few kernel panics and the following information I can ascertain:

CPU: 1 PID: 0 Comm: swapper/1 Tained: G C 3.16.3-200.fc20.x86

I am using the RTL8723AU driver (still considered staging)

Where can I get the whole log? I have only a photo of the panic...
