2013-02-06 05:07:59 -0500 | answered a question | Cannot startup after upgrading my Fedora 18 I have fedupped to f18 from 17 and the 2 latest kernels blank screen + ctr+Alt+F2 does not give me a screen -when I decrypt the hard drive blind & wait for HD activity to cease & put in my login & pw it looks likes it's working from the HD activity, but no screen. When I boot from kernel 3.6.11-1fc17.i686.PAE I get no problems & system works very nicely, so I am wondering what changed in the kernel and can it be fixed? this is a Toshiba sattelite P20 with NVIDIA Geforce FXGo5600 I have read some post about NVIDIA drivers problem and some additional parameters to set in Grub, but it sounded complicated for every boot. I hope it can be fixed in a future kernel, can it? Meanwhile, has anyone any suggestions how I can get a screen with the newest kernel? |
