2018-04-13 09:30:25 -0600 asked a question wlp3s0: failed to remove key and a disgusting peroblem in wireless connection to router!

Hi there. As I mentioned here too, when I connected to internet with Wi-Fi and router, sometime my connections immediately disappears and I will disconnect without any error, etc! Also a "" like icon appears in panel and I have to turn off and then on Wi-Fi again to fix it, on the other hand it mostly happens when I suspend my laptop.) Actually this problem is very disgusting for me so I looked for an error massage in gnome-logs and searched for problem, most of them reported this problem as bug in bug trackers as well as in bugzilla etc... and there wasn't any right solution for that so I opened this topic for asking help! Could you help me to solve this problem please? By the way I know that some more information about my Wi-Fi and drivers, etc needed so;

Kernel Version: Linux 4.15.13-300.fc27.x86_64

OS: Fedora 27 Workstation Linux and GNOME DE

$ iwconfig output: https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste...

$ ifconfig output; https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste...

$ iwlist scan output: https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste...

More information needed? let me know on comments.

Afterwards I should mention that I'm using Fedora for a bout a year and got this problem recently! Thanks.

OK! I will report any fix, etc here too. Now I report it in Red Hat Bugzilla too, that it can contain much more information about it. Here is issue on github for everyone who want to follow the issue. Thanks.

2018-01-21 14:50:03 -0600 asked a question feedreader crashes every time

I installed feedreader form fedora official repositories, every time I open it a window will show to choose other feed reader service and I didn't use any before, so I choose "Local RSS" but the matter is after a few second it crashes unexpectedly and on the other hand when I choose another option it won't crash!!! Here is a log when I choose "Local RSS" (ran in terminal by "feedreader" command).

2018-01-19 10:17:20 -0600 asked a question default firewall and its configuration

Hi there. I am reading this article and it suggested that if my distro contain a firewall with a good configuration it can help my privacy and security.

Now my question is What firewall Fedora 27 is using by default and Is its configuration good enough to don't need any configuring from me? (if not, how can I enable a good firewall and configure it?)

Thanks.

OK. I think I should make a deal with it. Thanks for your reply anyway.

2017-12-10 09:34:56 -0600 asked a question Struggle with gnome-shell to remove an icon

I'm using Gnome on my laptop & I'd like to remove battery-icon-indicator from my top panel so I first searched for it & found some extensions for gnome-shell but none of them was desired to just remove it. I also searched for another FAQ and article & I found this FAQ & this.

The first FAQ gave a solution to remove indicator-power package & the second said to edit /usr/share/gnome-shell/js/ui/panel.js configuration file manually. I think that the first solution is not bad (if it doesn't get in trouble in updates) & the second is a bad idea because manual editing configuration files will cause to face to a problem on the future gnome-shell updates. Thus the question is How can I remove battery-icon-indicator from my top panel safety?

2017-11-30 17:32:34 -0600 commented answer Put the menu bar of applications in the top bar of Gnome Shell

it doesn't mean that when you see something on macOSX it's just for macOSX. Global menu is a program that only take the menu of programs to the panel to save spaces and for other reasons that it depends on the users and why they want to use global menu so it's a program on desktops whether macOSX whether fedora and others. but note that this is a GUI program that depends on desktop not distroes and OS.

Also I found this extension but I think it has many useless feature so ّI opened a new issue on its github, hope he create a simple and good global menu

did you read his question carefully? He said: to put the menu bar of applications in the top bar while this extension that you linked just provide a menu of application in gnome. @florian

Hi there, i can accept your question. I searched for the same long time and look for it but nothing. Actually that you are refering to is "global menu" and you should search for an global menu extension for gnome if your search hasn't any results too, should ask in gnome IRCs for someone help

But for now you can search for it here

If you have find the same share it with me please :)

Good luck.

2017-09-19 23:15:18 -0600 answered a question Vim.desktop doesn't work corectly. [Solved]

I know that there is a package called vim-X11 in repositories, but it will provide Gvim for me and I don't like to use Gvim. I just want a launcher on my dock that it can launch vim directly when I click on it. I did this action in Kubuntu 17.04 a few month ago and it worked on that but it doesn't work In Fedora Gnome 26. However, is there any way to make it works?

Hi I have a problem to load my vim with a launcher (.desktop file I mean) not by terminal. Actually I created a .desktop file in: /usr/share/applications with these descriptions: Link: https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste... and I executed vim.desktop with this command: sudo chmod +x vim.desktop Now when I search for vim in gnome, It's appear just like an application but when I click on it, It won't start and won't show anything. I guess there is a wrong with "exec=" option that it can start with it. So please let me know how can I fix this problem
