2017-05-06 12:26:30 -0600 | commented answer | When will 32bit support end on fedora? Thx for answer. You convinced me and I installed fedora 26 32bit on my laptop (I find it more stable than arch even thought it's alpha release). I like live images, apart from just net installers, because they can be used for recovery too. I saw that there is an option for non-pae kernel in the grub menu which is used for really old hardware (mine has pae support) so that makes me believe that 32bit support will be around at least for the near future. I will mark your answer as correct, but feel free to update it if you learn anything new about this matter. |
2017-05-05 02:48:40 -0600 | commented question | When will 32bit support end on fedora? @florian thx for the links. Well arch/manjaro is dropping 32bit support on November. Since I use the xfce desktop the only question for me is Fedora Xfce or Xubuntu. I'm not familiar with fedora's polices but is it possible, even after Fedora Workstation (Gnome edition) drops 32bit support, that the rest community spins like the xfce one to continue provide 32bit ISOs? |
2017-05-05 02:45:08 -0600 | commented question | When will 32bit support end on fedora? @bob No no, sorry if I didn't explain it well, the machine is more than 10 years old and 32bit only capable. What I said is that I will take a new 64bit laptop in about 1.5 years so I need 32bit support on my old laptop at least until fedora 28. |
2017-05-04 15:54:57 -0600 | asked a question | When will 32bit support end on fedora? I've been thinking about switching my 32bit laptop from manjaro to fedora. I'm planning to use it for at least 1.5 more years, until I get a new one. So I want to be able to update it at fedora 27 and 28 when they get released. Will fedora i386 be supported then? I've read on the internet that fedora is about to drop 32bit support but I haven't seen any specific day or release from any official sources. Thx in advance. |
2017-04-30 10:41:54 -0600 | asked a question | How can I use sudoedit in thunar custom action? I'm using fedora 26 xfce. In order to edit root files I use a custom action with the command Recently the kde team stopped dolphin working with kdesu for security reasons and urged everybody to use sudoedit instead. So, I thought to use sudoedit with thunar as well for security reasons. The command I tried is this:
However it doesn't work. If I run the command from terminal, replacing %f with the file's path then it works. P.S. gedit -s is needed instead of gedit because if gedit is already open it doesn't work at all. |
