Logitech m305 mouse recognized but nonfunctional

Specs: Thinkpad T420, i5 CPU, 8gb RAM. OS Fedora Workstation 24 XFCE. Using a Logitech M305 mouse & Logitech Unifying Receiver which was configured at some point long ago to work with this mouse using the Logitech Unifying Software under Windows 8.1.

Under Settings > Mouse and Touchpad, I have recognition of "Logitech M315/M235" and the "Enable this Device" checkbox was enabled by default, so I unchecked that and clicked okay out of the settings window, reopened the window through settings, checked the Enable box again & closed the window, still no change.

I'd appreciate suggestions on resources to read or procedures to try to get this mouse working. Thanks!
