Dual video card multiseat on Fedora 19. Any pointer?

Hello!

I am new to Fedora, having switched to it from Ubuntu (that I used since the very first release in 2004) now that they are going their unity + mir way. But I digress...

My home computer is a beefy machine with two nVidia video cards, that I have used for years as multiseat (two videos, two keyboards, two mice). In Ubuntu the configuration was quite tricky, having to create two different Xorg configuration files (1 per seat, and a udev rules files to assign the hardware to each seat). Furthermore one had to use LightDM to manage sessions as GDM did not support multiseat (at least the version shipped with Ubuntu when I first configured the machine).

Now, I read that since F17, multiseat should be as easy as "plug-and-play" (at leas with external hardware. However this is what happened so far:

  • Initially (nuveau drivers) I got all the hardware hooked up to the same seat and I had a dual head, dual mice, dual keyboard station.
  • Now that I installed the proprietary drivers, mice and keyboard are still all on the same seat, but the secondary monitor is just black.

So, my question boils down to this: is there anybody who can give me a pointer on how to implement dual seating in F19?

So far the best resource that I could find is code.lexarcana.com/blog/2012/06/17/simple-multiseat-setup-on-fedora-17/ (don't have enough karma to publish a link), but to me it seems like that might actually miss to use Fedora multiseat infrastructure, as it looks pretty similar to the stock Ubuntu solution I used for years (bar the lack of LightDM configuration).

Many thanks in advance! :) /mac
