LXDE and XFCE on the same installation?

Hello, I'm regulary stuck at Airports, so I wanted to try a battery-friendly desktop environment. I currently work on a Fedora18 XFCE desktop (Acer Aspire One). I've installed LXDE as yum install @lxde The idea being to choose XFCE when on AC power and LXDE when on battery. When both are installed, I can select the session at the login screen. But whatever I choose I get an icon "already connected" just under my user name, and the login process seems to stall. If I click on "Cancel", I may restart the process: session choice, password, but it stalls for both XFCE or LXDE choice. Is there some issue between both display managers ? Can a LXDE session be initiated by XFCE session manager ?
