what is freezing fedora 29 installation

I live usb boot to fedora 29. I get to the first page of installation to pick my language and I can't click on "continue" button. Nothing happens with the installation. I also noticed the names of most of the languages are half cut off. If I try to go to "settings" from the taskbar the mouse will freeze and nothing happens. I have to hard shutdown the computer by pressing and holding the power button.

I use the workstation version. If I use the xfce version it installs without issue but still seems laggy and freezes at times while in use.

My system is HP 260 G2 desktop mini. It's got 12 GB ram, 40 GB SSD, i3-6100u with integrated intel hd graphics 520. I would think my system should be able to handle it version 29. Either my system is too old or 29 has some serious problems.

I've tried other linux distros with the same sort of results. They freeze up during install. Like mint and ubuntu. Solus Budgie was the only one that seemed to work fine.

I found an iso of fedora 26 workstation and was able to install it without any issue under 10 minutes and it just works. I think this is what I was using before until I started doing update/upgrades and things started to freeze/lag on version 28. I saw version 29 was available and can't install it at all.

So what I wonder is how much has fedora changed from 26 to 29 that my system can't use it? Even ubuntu and mint can't install properly so the kernel itself must have changed in such a way to make these newer versions impossible to install on my pc.

I will try to install 27 and 28 to see at what point it stops working. As of now I have to use 26.

I will try tried to install 27 and 28 to see at what point it stops working. As of now I have to use 26.I installed 27 without issues. When I tried to install 28 the issues began. The first page of setup to pick language froze up. I could not click on any language or the continue button. Unlike 29 the name of the languages don't get cut off in half. So issues for my computer start at version 28.
