Unable to boot on Live USB with nomodeset

For some time now i've been looking to migrate from Debian based distros. I really liked Fedora Workstation 29 and decided to give it a try for my main distro. However, the process booting into the into my live usb has been a pain in the ass. Since my notebook has a gxt1050 graphics card i figured i'd have to boot it in basic graphics mode. However when i do so i get stuck in a black screen with a cursor blinking infinitely. I also tried to put nomodeset as a parameter in the "Start Fedora Workstation 29" but no luck for now :c. Anyone has any idea of what i can do now?
