Unable to upgrade Fedora 24 to Fedora 25

asked 2016-12-28 02:58:20 -0600

The following message it shows after downloading nearly half of Fedora 25 : Detailed errors from the package manager follow:

cannot download Packages/t/totem-pl-parser-3.10.7-1.fc25.x86 64.rpm to /var/cache/PackageKit/25/metadata/fedora/packages/: Curl error (35): SSL connect error for https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/met...64 [Encountered end of file]

Also, I did try to upgrade through terminal but there to it failed. There the message was : [vivek@localhost ~]$ sudo dnf upgrade --refresh [sudo] password for vivek:

vivek is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.

So, anyone care to explain, what to do now?

How did you start the upgrade process? Via terminal or GUI? If you have the root password, login as root on a terminal and execute dnf clean all. Then start over the upgrade process described in the Fedora Wiki

It looks like you encountered a network error. You should be able to just try again.

You can only use sudo if your user is an administrator, which usually means it's in the wheel group. If you have the root password or another administrator user account, you can make your user an administrator using the Users section in Gnome settings.

Also, dnf upgrade won't get you to Fedora 25. You need to use dnf system-upgrade also known as fedup.
