A dialog popped up saying "Some necessary plugins are missing. Make sure that the program is correctly installed." and Totem prints:

** (totem:3327): WARNING **: Element 'scaletempo' is missing, verify your installation

** (totem:3327): WARNING **: Element 'autoaudiosink' is missing, verify your installation

(totem:3327): Gtk-WARNING **: A floating object was finalized. This means that someone
called g_object_unref() on an object that had only a floating
reference; the initial floating reference is not owned by anyone
and must be removed with g_object_ref_sink().

I tried to reinstall GStreamer 1.0 plugins and Totem, but that didn't help.

This is a freshly installed Fedora. I wanted to install MP3 support so I installed some plugins. I don't know what I did wrong...

Solution:

rm -f ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0/registry.*.bin

No idea what this is, but it did solve this problem.
