How to install fedora25 on ASUS ROG GL752VW without crashing?

Purchased ASUS ROG GL752VW, has both Intel and NVIDIA GPU. Fedora has been so stable for me didn't think twice about wiping out the installed OS with Fedora 25. However, the box crashed intermittently during the install process, and even if I make it through the install performance is not stable, the laptop will crash while using. Re-installed with troubleshooting option of basic graphics, no issues during install or after, but missing graphic capabilities. Anyone find a simple way to make the multiple graphics setup work for Fedora 25 and ROG GL752VW? Lots of notes out there about Optimus, Prime, Switching, Wayland, X, etc, but nothing seems very solid. If I can have only have one video controller reliably would prefer the NVIDIA, just have to find a way to survive the many Fedora updates without having to hack a solution each time.

On laptop: lspci | grep -E "VGA|3D" 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 530 (rev 06) 01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM107M [GeForce GTX 960M] (rev a2

Did a little more digging, the problem ("crash") I am hitting is a reported bug, "1399983 - [abrt] NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#2 stuck for 23s! [plymouthd:4897]", on , component is xorg-x11-drv-nouveau.

Machine has been stable for a couple of days since a few of the soft lockups, considering this closed. The bug is still open, but liveable until fixed

Last I checked the nouveau drivers do not support the Nvidia 960m chipset used in this laptop. To install you need to disable the nouveau driver by supplying the following option.

Once you have the system working with the intel video, you will need to install the linux drivers from Nvidia to use the 960m as well.
