I have a machine called "tornado m60" shipped with fedora v6 KDE. my problem that when fedora launched it starts with a user other the root and a program called "kalsamix" is started automatically in full screen for tv streaming and i am not able to close it from task manager , and i am not i able to open any other application and also open start menu or desktop.

I have tried to reset the root password to be able to switch a terminal using ctrl-alt 0 but when I entered the root user and password I just changed using password reset ,I got incorrect login error message. I though out the there 's something automatically reset the root password to a fixed one. because when I changed the normal user password (that fedora automatically opened using it) and used it in the terminal , it successfully logged in. I am not able to install applications using this user , as I got error message that I have to be login using root to install the application "yum install vnc"
