Is anaconda giving the opportunity to select custom packages when it's finished?

If the new anaconda doesn't support customizing, it's not ready for prime time. If nothing else, I want to decide which DE I use, and it WON'T be Gnome!

That's no better, as I use Xfce. I like being able to decide for myself what gets installed instead of having to settle for whatever somebody else thinks I want and up until now, Fedora gave me that flexibility. Losing it would be a Bad Thing.

I think you missed the fact that all major DE's have their own spins in Fedora at http://spins.fedoraproject.org and that includes a Xfce spin as well. If you want to customize packages, you can continue to do so via kickstart. I don't believe the installer team has any plans to bring interactive customization back into Anaconda.

This isn't really the right place to discuss this, but I think you're missing my point so I'll try one, last time: I don't like the idea of the devs deciding for me which programs I want installed right at the start and which ones I won't want until later, if at all. I want to decide for myself, which is one reason I never use or recommend using a Live CD for installation. In fact, that exact attitude is one of the reasons I won't even consider using Gnome 3: the Gnome devs have made it as hard as possible to customize it. If I can't install my way, I'll find a distro that lets me.
