gnome-software upgrade F23 to F25

asked 2016-11-25 03:45:28 -0600

I want to upgrade F23 to F25 using the Software application. It is currently offering only upgrade to F24. Is is possible to upgrade directly to F25 using the Software application? If yes, then when it will offer the upgrade? PackageKit has already something downloaded in /var/cache/PackageKit/25/.

The support for the N + 2 upgrade is added in gnome-software-3.20.5-3.fc23 update. It is currently in testing. After few days, the package will be updated on F23 systems and the Software app will begin to offer the upgrade to F25.

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DNF_sy... , I think you will download it again unless you move your packages from /var/cache/PackageKit/25/ to /var/lib/dnf/system-upgrade or /var/cache/system-upgrade , you have to see where dnf plugin tries to save the files

Thanks for the note on downloaded files, but that's not my main concern. The question is whether the graphical upgrade to F25 will eventually pop out or not.

dnf system upgrade doesn't pop up windows , after reboot , will perform one dnf update of 5000+ packages, but have windows like anaconda neither options to choose .

I'm aware of dnf upgrade. The question concerns graphical upgrade using gnome-software. I already figured out.
