hi there when i try to play a video using GUI on vlc only audio is playing and a small window is opened in the down-left corner of the screen i tried to open vlc using the terminal running

#$ vlc
same small window is openned in the same place with the message
#[000055694a95b1c8] core libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
#QObject::~QObject: Timers cannot be stopped from another thread

when i run the command cvlc it gives the message

#VLC media player 3.0.0-git Vetinari (revision 2.2.0-git-8754-g1c89583)
#[000055b7fa6e1df8] dummy interface: using the dummy interface module...

then if i open up a video using GUI it playes video with no audio and the terminal gives this message

#Failed to open VDPAU backend cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
#[00007f8a781e1678] xcb_window window error: X server failure

You can either install libvdpau-va-gl from rpmfusion or disable gpu decoding in VLC configuration

VA-API is for Intel's GPUs, VDPAU for Nvidia's GPUs

libvdpau-va-gl VDPAU with VA-API backend

Since you have an Intel GPU try installing it (libva from regular fedora repo)

Where did you get it from? I have VLC media player 3.0.0-git Vetinari (revision 2.2.0-git-9290-g756dbb7) in my system and it's working smoothly
