why is there no working build of QtiPlot in Fedora? And why does nobody care about the reported bugs? The program didn't work in Fedora 15, and it still doesn't work in Fedora 16.
This is really sad, because the program is (in my eyes) the only working substitute for Origin, which I have to use often for my work.
I tried to build the package by my own, but it doesn't work.
What was the error? I'll take a look myself at some point.
I've tried to build it manually but Qt 4.7+ changed too much to compile it successfully.
First, QAssistantClient become obsolete [1], but there is compatibility layer for it in Fedora repo (qt-assistant-adp-devel). Second, after some tweaking of Makefiles, process pass the ".o" stage but fails at linking and creating executables:
moc-qt4

As I noted in this bug. The package has been retired in Fedora see the dead.package file in git
and https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/acls/name/qtiplot
So it was never explicitly built for f16, in any case. If you can convince another maintainer to pickup the package, then it can probably be fixed.
Same problem for me in fedora 15, when manipulating a graph the program crash. After crashing:
