hei, i am interested in this question, too.

for now i am using ubuntu 11.10, my system is a dell xps15, i7 & gt540 m ^^ the nice thing is i enabled rc6 so i have more battery time, and then i did find the project "ironhide" to disable my nvidia graphics card. it is perfect now. up to 9h if i let the notebook "sleep". while browsing and typing at the moment ~7h. so in fact it is better then win7 xD

but i want to use fedora with gnome3 - so you say i should just test whether vgaswitcheroo works for me or you have another idea?

or is here maybe someone who can support the ironhide project? (atm it is only for ubuntu users if i am not wrong...)

or maybe there is an other way? it would be nice if you can help us more detailed.

Please check if your system is supported by vga_switcheroo. Check if you have the below file -

# ls /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch

If there is a file please follow the below question in #AskFedora for getting how to get switchable graphics working -

http://ask.fedoraproject.org/question/135/blacklist-gpu

If you don't have have this above file then vga_switcheroo doesn't support your system.
