How to update Fedora 24's Firefox to version 49?
I tried the software manager but there wasn't an option to do that.

Sometimes it is necessary to clean dnf
completely - before searching for available updates to get the latest ones. So open a terminal and execute :
sudo dnf clean all
sudo dnf upgrade
Firefox 49 (and all other updates) will be offered for upgrading, now press y
to start the upgrade process.
It's out!

(From www.phoronix.com ) Firefox 49 ships with Linux Widevine support for handling this CDM similar to the existing Windows support for being able to play more protected HTML5 video content.
Firefox 49 also features additions to the reader mode, improved video performance for systems with SSSE3 CPU support while lacking hardware acceleration, HTML5 audio/video improvements, re-enabled the default for Graphite2 font shaping, support for the Web Speech Synthesis API, and much more.
For developers, Firefox 49 adds support for details and summary elements, additions to the sandbox attribute on iframes, accessibility improvements, experimental CSS Grids improvements, experimental CSS Masks improvements, and a lot of other changes.

Patience is a virtue. FF49 has not been distributed to the Fedora mirror sites yet.
bodhi -L firefox | grep f24-updates
reveals that the time is near.
