Samsung 950 pro NVMe won't boot Fedora 24

Setup is as follows: MSI Gaming Pro Carbon x99A Haswell 5930k with 3200 DDR4 quad channel specced for board gtx 980ti small raid setup with sata drives then there's the Samsung NVMe 950 Pro 256GB

More details required. Did you install Fedora on it? What happens when you try to boot?

I was not able to boot from it directly, I created a 1GB partition on a disk and set it as the boot partition and put root on the nvme disk. It goes from grub to gdm in about a second
